This is a really great place to stay when visiting Hervey Bay. Such a convenient location so close tot he harbour and for whale watching. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. Thanks so much. d

We stayed in 2 different room types, the hotel and cabin. Both had the smell of an ashtray and weren't vacuumed. The beds were okay to sleep on. The shower and in the cabin was very low and short. Wouldn't recommend paying the price we paid for the rooms we got and wouldn't stay there again willingly.

Great affordable accommodation. We had a room with private ensuite, complete with tv, couch, fridge, kettle, tea, coffee and milk. Private little deck area also. Quiet and peaceful park complete with peacocks, ducks and birdlife. We did not use the common kitchen area, but on inspection it was neat and clean. Our room itself was spotlessly clean. Check-in process easy with friendly staff member Carl. Wished we had more time to enjoy a longer stay.

We had a room in Possum Lodge it was comfortable, but had nowhere to hang clothes. Nearby commumity kitchen was clean and gas stainless steel stove was great, as was pool. Gardens and outdoor tables need a lot of work. Peacocks great.

We are seniors, well over 70 who stay at YHA hostels by choice. We are at Urangan regularly. We love the chat with others. "To stay young, mix with youth"

Experience at this hostel was one of the worst I’ve experienced in a YHA the room smelt of damp and when we tried to get hold of the staff it was ring this number then the number was unavailable the kitchen wasn’t cleaned when it said it was. The door wouldn’t close properly which meant we didn’t have privacy which made my partner uneasy as there was lots of people walking round drunk all night

There is No free WiFi unless you stand outside in the dark and cold near the pool. My double bed mattress which was about one foot from the ground was very lumpy and needs to be thrown out. We had cold nights but no heating available. The sliding door to my room does not completely close. Two very small fridges in kitchen with no room to put anything. There was no Bar or Restaurant open, and this was not mentioned when looking at this place to book. Unfriendly reception ladies. A Bad experience.

We review these ratings daily, and publish any comments whether they are good or bad. However, there are a few instances where we will not publish comments online:

We will not publish inappropriate and/or offensive comments.

Inappropriate or offensive comments include, but are not limited to, personal harassment or discrediting of YHA staff, hate speech, sexually explicit language, swearing or references to illicit drug usage.

UNSUBSTANTIATED OR INCORRECT CLAIMS

We will not publish any comments that are not directly related to the hostel, or your experience during your stay.

Hostels will have the right to have negative comments removed if they can prove that claims are unsubstantiated, incorrect or you did not stay at the hostel that you are commenting on.

COMMENTS INCLUDING STAFF NAMES
